IS CITY BETTER THAN TOWN TO LIVE?

Nowadays we don’t have great difference between living in a town or a city because you can find many things in a city as well as in a big town. Years ago, we had to go to city in order to do anything, but now there are things that you can do in town too.

Living in a town has a lot of advantages but it has also some disadvantages. If there isn’t public transport, you need a car in order to move to city, for example, when you must go to hospital or university. In a city you can find more shops, restaurants, cinemas… Usually, city shops are cheaper than town shops, above all in food and informatic products. Moreover, you mustn’t worry about saying hello to everybody that you find in the street.

Nevertheless, town life is quieter than city life because town has less noise and traffic jams than city. So town people are less stressed than city people. Another advantage is that you can find cheaper flats.

In conclusion, you can live in a town as well as in a city. The best option depends on interests that each person has, but many people prefer to live in city during working week and in town at weekend.

Well, if you would have asked me that question some years ago I would have answered “CITY” with no doubt. I used to say that it was better because you could go to the theater, to the cinema, to museums, etc… BUT a friend of mine who live in a town asked me “Well, but how many times a year do you go to the theater, cinema, museums, etc???” Then I discovered that my argument was not valid. Indeed, we used to go much more times to those places than me. I think that while years go passing by I am more convinced that living in a town is better.

I prefer to live into a quite town near the big city, like esplugas.

I think as you Carlos. The best is to live near a big city but not in the big city

I guess I am in favour of a big town or a small city. I need the asphalt but when I go to the country I enjoy it a lot. However, I think cities are more mind stimulating than small towns.
